Hello everyone!

As your Drama Booster Club president, I would first like to thank all of those who have contributed to the success of past drama productions here at Beaverton. Without your helping hands and ideas, we wouldn't have such successful and wonderful productions!

Volunteering

Beaverton has a new volunteer policy:
Everyone who volunteers in our schools needs to have a background check. There is a simple form to fill out on the district website.
Follow these easy steps:

1. Go to www.beavton.k12.or.us and
   click on the 'For Parents' tab.
2. Click on the black 'Volunteer Entry Form' icon on the left hand side of the page.
   (or go directly to the volunteer form).
3. Fill out the required fields and submit!

The background check is free and will help us keep our students and building safe. You can also pick up a paper copy of the form at the school, but it's much faster to submit online. Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers for their help in quickly filling these out!

How You Can Help

Volunteers are vital to making our drama department work. We usually need parent volunteers in the categories below. We can also use parents willing to coordinate each activity.

We are trying out an on-line sign-up tool for our volunteers. You see what is needed for the current show and sign up to volunteer on-line by going to this Volunteer Sign Up site.

Here is a general description of the activities.

Set Construction

Set work is mostly done at Saturday work parties. See the production schedule for Saturday Work Parties dates. Parents mostly help students learn to use tools, and supervise. Work includes light carpentry, rough finish work, and lots of painting.

Costumes

We can always use help constructing costumes. We also need a parent to coordinate costume cleaning after the show.

Box Office

We now pre-sell tickets on-line, but we still need help with box office shifts before each show.

Concessions

We always need help with the concessions at each show.

Backstage Help

We need a parent backstage during each show and dress to keep an eye on belongings, direct lost people, and generally watch the room while the students are focused on the production.
